A few years ago, I met Ruth. I still remember the first time we met – it was at a friend of our’s house and surprisingly, I still remember what I was wearing (my owl shirt from Mojo’s), and I was sitting indian style on the ottoman. She’s one of those people that everyone loves to have around – super fun, great smile, amazing sense of humor, incredibly funny, and just all around an awesome person – our friendship was pretty automatic and just so comfortable. Ever since then, Ruth has been an amazing friend, I can’t even begin to express the love I have for her and how thankful I am that she is such an important part of my life. We still text and facebook often, but I can’t wait to see her again in person.

I heard the song below for the first time with Ruth. She likes Hanson and I love the song so much – not only is it a great song, but it reminds me of Ruth…and that’s more-or-less the best part ;)

“Staring at a million city lights,
But still Penny and I are all alone beneath the sky,
Feel the wind brushing slowly by,
If I could soar I would try, to take these wings and fly,
Away to where the leaves turn red,
But no matter where I am instead,
Singin’ along to feelin’ alright, (MmMm)
or makin’ it by in the pink moonlight,
It’s always Penny and me tonight”

Me and Ruth had some crazy adventures together…and I cannot wait to have more!

Her sister Bess is pretty awesome, too – must run in their genes ;)

She’s also pretty crazy…It’s only one of my many favorite things about Rutherford…

In Ruston, Rutherford was my drinkin’ buddy, my El Jarrito buddy, my driving around buddy, my lounging around buddy, my gossip buddy…….and she’s a master stalker, lemme tell ya! ;) :P

I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count how many times we sat on my porch and just talked about nothing in particular, but everything at once.

I can’t wait till I get to smother her with another one of these hugs:

I called her Rutherford, and she called me Rosco…I have a hard time remembering why, but it just happened – She’s still the only person I really like to call me ‘Rosco’…I’m sentimental I guess ;)

She hopes to come visit me in Belgium, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I hope that comes true!!!! Me + her + Europe = unimaginable and unmeasurable fun!

Love you, Rutherford, and I can’t wait to see you!!!

– Rosco
